It's a Winner - 2012 Blanc de Blancs

Have you heard the good news?

Our 2012 Blanc de Blancs Sparkling Wine got high marks at the 2014 Winemasters Choice Competition - we earned Gold, Best in Class for Sparkling Wines, and were runner-up for Best in Show!

Our Blanc de Blancs is a dry sparkling wine made from Chardonnay grapes grown by Noble Farm Vineyards on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and offers a full palate of varietal flavor with a smooth finish. Akin to our other sparklings, it is made in the traditional Champagne method (Méthode Champenoise), and retails at $38*.

Be sure to stop by our tasting room for a taste, glass, or bottle - open Thursday-Saturday!

*Special discount for our Wine and Cider Club members - ask us how to join! info@greatshoals.com

A Greener Approach to Festivals

Spring and summer are undoubtedly the wine festival seasons here in Maryland - we already have several under our belt this year so far, with countless more planned. In fact, I think we will be at one festival or another almost every weekend in June!

May 4th - Sykesville Art & Wine Festival

We at Great Shoals decided to take a slightly different approach to these festivals this year. Rather than bring several cases of different ciders and wines (which can be labor intensive, space consuming, and a bit wasteful), we have decided to stick to tasting our relatively new kegged ciders and premier a few signature cocktails using some of our other still and sparkling wines. Not only does this cut down on what we have to transport, but it is also a much greener initiative. We waste less bottles, less beverages, and less boxes while still being able to provide a delicious, quality product.

You'll see in the picture above that we still bring a decent amount of product - both to be sold and to be made into one of our yummy cocktails for $6 a glass. Not much can beat the taste of our incredibly fresh apple, peach, and pear ciders (all available by the glass or bottle) - except maybe a glass of our signature Apple Julep!

We hope you'll stop by some of our upcoming events and see our newer and greener set-up!
